Addie’s Grocery is diversifying the online grocery industry

Norwood is getting a new supermarket, but no one will ever go inside. A distinct design is used at Addie’s Grocery on Route 1. All meals can be ordered online and picked up in-store by customers. The employees of Addie conduct their own grocery shopping, unlike other applications that let you pay someone to do it for you.

Only 3–4% of supermarket sales prior to the COVID-19 outbreak came from internet orders. Online grocery delivery services save money by reducing impulsive purchases and providing convenience. These are some of the advantages driving supermarket e-commerce, which McKinsey.com predicts will quadruple in the next five years. The Addie’s app allows customers to place orders, and they can quickly pick up their items the same day. According to Mcquade, CEO of Addie’s Grocery, “We’re delighted because we feel that what we’ve established here is something that we can reproduce in places all throughout the country.”
