A consortium, including Meta and Nvidia, plans to launch the Metaverse Standards Forum

Around two dozen tech firms have partnered to roll out the Metaverse Standards Forum to support the growth of the Metaverse platform. Metaverse is the advanced version of today’s internet with VR, AR and digital twin technology. Tech experts and engineers can test the tech innovations using the digital twin and gauge their technical performance. The companies that are launching the platform include Meta platforms, Nvidia, Qualcomm Inc., Microsoft Corp., and the W3C consortium. Another firm called Khronos Group would be hosting the Metaverse Standards Forum. Khronos Group develops technologies for the fields such as AR, VR and machine learning to enable interoperability between products from various tech firms. This forum will facilitate different brands wanting to join the metaverse.
